JuNK gYpSiES

Two of the most inspiring business women and decorators are Amie and Jolie Sikes, the Junk Gypsies! They are native Texans with a knack for turnin' trash into treasure. After setting up booths at flea markets for 16 years they opened a store in Round Top, Texas in 2014 and also have an online store. You can watch them on the Junk Gypsies and Garage Sale Wars on HGTV and the Great American Country channel.

  1. I enjoyed the video you posted. I love how people can be so creative with what they have and buy. If you ever went to Texas would you stop by their store?

  2. I had never heard of them until now but it's true that they say one person's trash in another person's treasure, do you frequent a lot of thrift shops to get ideas for your DIY?

  3. Jessica, I am actually from Texas, so I go to Dallas about 2 times a year buttt the Junk Gypsies are off the beaten path. I would probably have to make a specific trip out there. Actually, after looking at a map they are towards Galveston and Austin. Maybe some day I will make it out there.

Joy, I do like going to thrift stores. It seems like they are more fun than going to boring old chain stores because you never know what you can find!
